Silence

I am reading a book called “silence”, it is the third book in the “hush hush” series. It is by Becca Fitzpatrick. This series is about a girl named Nora Grey who has fallen in love with a guy named Patch. He has a secret that Nora finds out in the first book. This series is a fantasy series. I really like this series because of the random things that are happening.
    I picked out this book because it was in the fantasy section in the store “bull mouse.” I saw it and decided to read the back, I read it and got very interested in it so my mom got it for me. Ever since then I have really enjoyed the series. your friend,

  It’s Haley again. I thought I’d talk to you about a book I’ve recently started called Song of the Lioness by Tamora Pierce. I haven’t gotten far into it but so far its pretty good. This is what the book is about.
     It’s about these two twins named Alanna and Thom. Alanna wants to be a great warrior but her dad is sending her off to become a sorcerer. Her dad is sending Thom off to be a warrior when he wants to be a sorcerer. The two of them switch places so they can do what they want to do. You should try this book if you like a good fantasy.

    Right now I’m reading a book you’ve probably heard of. It’s called the hunger games. So far it is great! Right now I’m on Page 51. The author does a great job of giving a setting and made it easy to understand the background of the story.
    In the book the “Hunger Games,” the main character Katniss lives in the future world. There is a government set up into 12 districts. Katniss lives in district 12. Every year there is a reaping when they select 2 contestants  from each district. Katniss’ sister, Prim Rose, is selected to enter the games and Katniss volunteers “as tribute.”  I will update you on the book as I read it. Hope you read it too:)

Hearts in Atlantis

    I’m reading a lot of books right now but I’m only going to tell you about one. One of the books I’m reading is “ Hearts in Atlantis “ by Stephen King. This book is a series of five interconnected sequential narratives, but I’m only going to talk about one.  
    The main character of this part, the part named “ Hearts in Atlantis “, is a guy named Peter Riley. He goes to the University of Maine. He has to work in the kitchen at his school so he can afford to go to college. The reason why this part is named “ Hearts in Atlantis “ is because Peter likes to play the card game Hearts with a group of friends.

    The book I am currently reading is the first book in the Pretty Little Liars series called Pretty Little Liars. This amazing book was written by Sara Shepard. I’m not very far in but so far it is great! Its is realistic fiction. One of my favorite genres. It is about four girls Hanna, Spencer, Aria, and Emily. They all trusted their secrets in their friend Allison but she went missing two years ago. Their secrets were safe until now. There are eleven books in the series and I can’t wait to read them all and then see the TV series too.

Hey guys it's Tim. I am reading The Throne of Fire by Rick Riordan he is my favorite author. It is the sequel of The Red Pyramid. Carter and Sadie the main characters are trying to save the world from Apophis who to all you people that don't know egyptian mythology very well that is the snake god of chaos. This is obviously fantasy. Well now you know what I am reading and I hope you all read this series.

Dear Classmates,
    I just started the book Precious by Sapphire, my books genre is a memoir/nonfiction. It’s about a black girl who is over weight and is abuse by her father and mother. Her father rapes her and has gotten her pregnant twice. Her mother thinks that Precious is trying to “steal” her husband and beats her for it. Precious cannot read and she’s 16 years old and still in eighth grade. She is going to a special school. The principal from her old school thought she would do better at the new school because she is pregnant. No one knows that she can’t read. I just started to read this book and I can’t stop reading it! I read it whenever I get the chance. It’s kind of hard between soccer and school work to find time to read but I do my best. The one thing that this book has in it that some people not like is swearing and some parts that describe what the father did to her.

     the book I am reading now is Conrad's War. The main character is Conrad and he said that his dad is fat and I think he is really fat and I just started reading it and I think it’s good. Conrad wanted to build a tank and one night he went down stairs and he found his dad asleep on the type writer and he woke his dad up and he said that he needed help on the tank and his dad said no and Conrad got upset and said I am going to build the tank himself.

     Hello, I am Michael and I am a new author for the blog about books. I am a seventh grader living the the state of Maine. My favorite genre of book is science fiction while my favorite genre of movie would have to be action/thrillers. 

    The best book that I ever read is “The Enemy” by Charlie Higgson.  Its a book about London after a disease had spread over the continent turning anyone over the age of 16 into zombies. This book is my favorite due to the extensive detail that he was able to put into the characters, that is something that in my opinion a good book needs to be good enough to read. (As well as having a interesting topic.)

 

     From being a contributor to this blog I intend to be able to share the books that I like and read about other books that I should maybe check out for my self, you can expect to see posts from me in the future.

My name is Danielle I'm 13 years old and in the seventh grade. I really m enjoying this blog so far. I love reading though sometimes I don't always get to . I love cheering , softball and tumbling . When I am older I would love to be an engineer and work to find a cure for cancer or an actress or a veterinarian. I haven’t really decided. My favorite author is R.L Stine he has written the goosebumps series which is one of my favorite series. I love it because it is a way to escape the real world and go into an imaginary magical world.
Right now I am reading two books one is called the Thirteenth Winter it is about a girl who has a learning disability and her struggles through school and into adulthood , this book is a memoir . The other book I am reading is Sweethearts . This is also about a young girl who is bullied and only has one friend that sticks up for her but he moves away and then a few months later she finds he has died and her world comes spiraling down .I can’t wait to finish these books and see what happens and then start another great read.

    I am Emily, I in the 7th grade, and I am 12. I love cheerleading, singing, and when I grow up I want to be a psychiatrist. I am one of the authors of this website, Blogging About Books. I love to read, although I don’t do a lot of it. My favorite author is Neil Gaiman. I have read three books by him: M is for Magic, Coraline, The Graveyard Book, and I am about to read Odd and the Frost Giants. His books hold a dark, yet magical element which I enjoy to read. I have read M is for Magic and Coraline both at least four times. My favorite genre of books is realistic fiction. I like reading books that I can relate to, but reading books I can not relate to is also fun because it is like living another life. I enjoy scary movies, I have never watched a movie that was to scary.
    I learned how to read in preschool. The first books I read were the Biscuit books. These books consisted of pages with about one sentence on each page, but I enjoyed it all the same.
    I am currently reading the Pretty Little Liars series. I would like to start reading The Hunger Games. I think that reading/contributing to this blog with help me grow as a reader because maybe by taking part in this blog I will write assignments that will make me think deeper about my reading and writing.     My name is Sierra. My dad makes vinyl graphics, and my mom makes jewelry. I like to read and draw and I also like to knit, and bake. When I grow up, I want to be a professional cake maker, like on the show ‘ Cake boss ’.
    I have two dogs, and two cats. My dog’s names are Veda and Lucy. Veda is a miniature pincher, Lucy is part chow-chow and part pomeranian. My cat’s names are Ludwig Van and Lo-Pan. Ludwig Van is a Maine-coon cat, Lo-Pan is part Maine-coon, and we’re not sure if he’s part persian ( We think Lo-Pan could possibly be part persian because he’s so fluffy! ).

Hi my name is Timmy and I am a 7th grader and my favorite book is the kid who invented the popsicle and  I am 13 years old and I have a little brother named Brennan he was born on December 26 2011 and he is 4 months old. I was born on May 3rd 1999 at Maine cost memorial hospital and I love basketball and I like base ball I have been playing baseball for 3 years and my dream is to be an actor. My fear is being a hostage in a bank.

     When I was 3 I got my first dirt bike and it was a Honda 50cc four stroke and it was white and it was small.When I was six or seven I got another Dirt Bike and it was bigger and it was a T90cc four stroke and it was blue and now I have a KX 65 Kawasaki 2 stroke. I have a fiberglass 12 foot boat and it has a 9.9 motor on the back of it and I had it for 2 years and I still have it today and one day when I was riding my 50cc Dirt Bike my dog Rex was biting the front tire and he was doing for quite a while now and it caused me to crash my dirt bike and I had a scab on my shoulder.

    In the summer time I like to go swimming with my grandparents and my grandfather has a speedboat so I can go tubing my grandfather has a flat tube and in the fall I like to play video games and in the winter I like to go snow tubing and go ice fishing with my grandfather and me and my grandfather take our ice shacks behind a island and when i was 10 I drove my grandfathers ATV on the ice and I like to drive my grandfathers snowmobile on the ice and we go ice fishing on Donell's pond and that is about MYSELF thank you for listening.

    Hello, my name is Tim. I am one of the new editors of the blog. I am 12 years old. I will be 13 in a few days on May 16. I am in seventh grade.
    Here are some of the things I like to do: Play Baseball, play video games, just being in the woods, riding my bike, riding my minibike, riding my skateboard, shooting a gun. I have many pets, and they are three snakes: Sassy, Pixie and Carlieto. I have a pet mouse named snowball. I have 5 gold fish and a algae eater all named after the cast of NCIS. I also have 2 dogs a pit bull Shadow and a Miniature Dachshund named Ity Bitty Short Stuff.
    My favorite genres are fantasy, historical fiction and realistic fiction. My favorite book is THE LAST OLYMPIAN because it has a lot of new twists on it to make you want to read the next series. My favorite movies are The Mechanic, Assassination games, Never Back Down, Never Back Down 2 The Beat down and Gone in 60 Seconds.What I want to gain from this blog is to become a better reader and find some good books.

I  also love to go on the internet to talk to friends and do some tumbling on Tumblr ( a blogging site where you re-blog pictures, and post statuses, you can also upload your own picture or pictures and blog it. )
    I have many favorite books but I will only name one. One of my favorite books is The Chinese Cinderella. I highly recommend it to all girls. It is a memoir about a girl who had been abused by her stepmother . The reason it is called The Chinese Cinderella is because the setting is in China, and she has a stepmother who abuses her day after day and nobody did anything about it. They just sat there and let her get beat. They said she was the cause of her mother’s death because her mother died after giving birth to her. She had finally stuck up for herself, and got herself in some major trouble. She got sent away and lived the rest of her life away from her evil witch of a stepmother.
    From this blog, I hope to give people suggestions about what books are good and not so good. I also hope people do the same for me and give me some good suggestions about what I should read.

It's kind of awesome, the whole book blog thing.  So anyway, I would like to show you guys my book reviews about a couple of my favorite books. I've already given my review about Delirium so here's my book reviews

I love this series (although Reached doesn’t come out till 11/13/2012, which is actually the day before my b-day), It is about a futuristic world where people are assigned a person to marry. It reminds me of the Hunger Games because there's a love triangle involved between her best friend and someone she never thought she would be with. If you love the Hunger Games, you’ll love this series too.

I love this book because it’s a bit on the challenging side; you need to pay attention to every detail to get the story... otherwise you get really confused), and it’s in general an awesome book. This book is about a girl named Claire who is a normal girl whose world turns upside down by her future husband named Henry (Henry is a time traveler, hence the book title The Time Traveler’s Wife). If you're in for a good,challenging,time travel love story, then you should try this out.

Delirium, I have recently read and it’s AMAZING!!!!!!!! I haven’t read Pandemonium yet though. If anyone knows where I can get a copy please tell me so. Delirium's setting is an twisted version of the U.S.A in the future where love is considered a disease called deleria. The U.S. finds a cure for “deleria” and it is required for people 18 and older. This book follows the point of view of the new U.S. from a girl named Lena who’s journey through this twisted world is changed by someone she never expected. Everyone should read this series like ASAP!!!

Hey, Its Karli. I am new to this blog. I am 13 and in seventh grade. My interests are softball, cheering, and hanging out with my friends. Mostly Haley, Casey, Diane, Emily and Danielle. (To make my dad feel good) I love my Dad.

My favorite genre of movies are romances and comedy. Some of my favorite movies are The Lucky One (#1), The Hunger Games (#2), and An Unfinished Life (#3). I would say The Lucky One and The Hunger Games tie though. But when it comes to reading I really am open to reading anything! Sci-Fi, realistic fiction, Fantasy, and nonfiction. I love it all.....except poetry. I DISLIKE poetry. I just don’t find it interesting. But that is just my opinion.

I have so many favorite books. A few of them are The Hunger Games, Gallagher Girl series, and Chinese Cinderella. Authors? Well, they are Ally Carter, Ally Condie, Suzanne Collins, Nicholas Sparks, Jenny Han, and Stephanie Meyers. I hope that you all will take in to consideration to reading some of these authors books!
